Programs
All of our training processes can be delivered directly to beneficiaries
or delivered to staff or volunteers as 'Training of Trainers' packages.
Psychosocial support
Art, physical theatre and play in a safe, empathetic environment are powerful tools for enabling children
and adults to express and process difficult emotions
and experiences, and to begin to develop
self-confidence, trust and mutual support.
Theatre and multiple perspectives
Physical theatre is a playful tool for exploring and expressing in a non-verbal way, which enables an increase in both self-awareness and empathy for others. The body is central in this process- as the memory and the vehicle of experience and transformation.
Forum theatre builds on these tools, offering an exciting space in which community problems can be creatively explored and shared solutions devised and practiced. This collective discussion through performance enables the expression of many different perspectives and creates connection, ownership and empowerment amongst community members.
Creativity and peace-building
Art, physical theatre and dialogue tools create a safe space where internal, inter-personal and community conflict can be explored in all their messy complexity, and where new reflection and communication skills can be practiced in safety.
More advanced programs use the same approach to explore and develop the skills to use questioning and empathy to hold mediation and dialogue processes at the personal and community level.
Facilitation skills
Physical theatre, art and play create the space for a deep reflection on the skills and qualities of a creative, enabling facilitator. Using these tools, theories of learning, techniques for questioning, creating safety and unleashing the natural creativity of all participants are accessible and clear.
Exploring media and rumour
Images, colour, music, shapes, movement, text… Our multisensory program uses art, metaphors and physical theatre to explore the nature and impact of media and rumour at the community level, and to develop possible strategies for preventing them from contributing to local disputes and disagreements.
